Decking the halls, part 1....

The tree is up....
the outside will come in a few days.

Fall in a box....

I received a big box in the mail today.

Imagine my surprise when I opened it
and found that it was full of fall!!!

Allison was thinking of me and sent me a box full of fall foliage
that she & Jon picked from the park,
and filled it with little bits of love.
There was an encouraging card,
a bag full of her famous brownies,
and I thought that was all,
but then Emma said,
"Wait!  There's something else down in the bottom!"

Down in the bottom of the box,
we found a tiny little wrapped present...
and in it was an
"I Love You More"
sign with a message on the back that made me cry.

This was probably the best package I've ever received.
She's my oldest friend,
and she knows my heart the best.

Slowly coming together

(I LOVE pretty pink flowers outside of my window!)

Slowly but surely....

Nothing fancy, just us turkeys

Our Thanksgiving was quiet and low-key.

I had to work the early part of the day,
and the house still isn't totally put together,
but we still had a nice relaxing dinner.

The more things change, the more they stay the same....

taking pictures of herself?

Still her favorite thing to do.

Chillin' with Grandpa

Baby Bella chillin' with Grandpa on Thanksgiving.
You know, doing the normal things like wearing bread pans on their heads. ;)

What I've been working on today....

The house isn't all put together yet,
but it's getting there.

This is what I worked on today.

Girl Scouts....

Saturday morning Emma's Girl Scout troop
had a lot of activities planned.

First, they had a park clean-up.

Then, Emma received a pin and a badge.

Last, a local hospital donated a few flags
so that the girls could learn how
to properly retire an American flag.

What a valuable lesson to learn
& nice way to show respect for our country!

Take 2....

So this home doesn't have all of the bells and whistles,
or the granite or the balcony,
and has linoleum instead of tile,
but it's peaceful.

And it's what God sent us in a time of need.

So I am eternally grateful & proud,
and can't wait to be unpacked & settled.

Baby steps

Trying to get settled,
making a little progress.

The new fridge will be here
this weekend.

The rest of the house is coming together slowly,
but the garage is still a mess.
