Craft time

Finally got around to making the craft project
for Emma's room that I had bought the stuff for
last weekend.  I think it turned out great!

The fabric she picked out was a really flimsy t-shirt type material,
so I had to spray a piece of poster board with spray glue & lay the
fabric on it in order to give it some stability.

Then I formed some triangles and cute the shapes out.

I had already painted some chip letters I bought to spell out her name.

I braided some yarn, since these flags would probably
be a little heavy and would need something a little stronger
than just string or ribbon, then I glued it across the backs of the flags.

Next, I cut some pieces of ribbon to glue across the tops of each flag.
I originally planned to put it around each edge of the flags, but it was just too much.

Then I glued on the letters and hung it up!

Valentine's Day 2011

Paul and I had our Valentine's Day last night,
since we both have to work on Monday.

It was simple, sweet and low-key.
Just the way I like it.

We went to the Macaroni Grill for dinner,
then spent a romantic evening together.

I gave him a big box of chocolates
(his favorite),
and he gave me an expensive box of chocolates
and a bear.

I'm not normally a stuffed animal person,
but this little guy is cute and oh so soft!

I think he'll take the place of my "monster" pillow on my bed.
You know, where you don't want to extend your arm up and off the bed,
in case something reaches up and grabs your hand?
*CREEPY!*
So, I normally keep a pillow tucked between
the headboard and the mattress to lay my hand on.

Friends for life....

What should we make?

DSCN8377

What should we make???

I bought fabric to recover an old stool that I have,

the pink is for a project I’m making for Amelia’s room

(I forgot to buy more hot glue sticks though).

The jute ribbon stuff…

I don’t know, I just loved the way it looked.

And it was 99cents a yard, so why not?

I think I’m going to wrap it around a couple of baskets to add some new texture.

Painting letters we bought at Hobby Lobby.

More on that when I get that hot glue!

Maddie painted her letters last night.

She wanted them crackled.

Not sure why she picked these colors,

because these are not the colors she wants to do her bedroom in,

but as long as she’s happy.

As far as that old stool of mine goes…..

I love it!

Maybe someday soon I’ll get around to painting those brown legs though.

Emma was playing around and got all dolled up…

curled her hair, did her makeup, put on a dress and high heels.

Then she saw that I was doing a project & wanted to dive right in!

She’s not afraid to get her hands dirty.

And she looks pretty doing it!

View from a recovery room....

Jess doesn't even remember this being taken,
it's right after one of her surgeries.

Her poor little face is so swollen!
